Carmel Pascale is a PhD candidate at the University of Adelaide. Her thesis explores the history of commemoration in twentieth century South Australia. Focusing on the state’s relationship with Britain and the empire, it traces the development of expressions of Australian nationalism from 1901 to 1965.
