Glen O’Brien is Research Coordinator at Eva Burrows College within the University of Divinity, Melbourne and is a member of the University’s Centre for Research in Religion and Social Policy. He completed his PhD at La Trobe University under the supervision of John Hirst and has gone on to publish widely in Wesleyan and Methodist studies and to engage in postdoctoral research at Duke University, Oxford Brookes University, and the Manchester Centre for Wesley Research. He co-edited and contributed several chapters to Methodism in Australia: A History (Routledge 2015) with Hilary M. Carey and is the author of Wesleyan-Holiness Churches in Australia: Hallelujah under the Southern Cross (Routledge, 2018). He is Vice President of the Religious History Association and a member of the Executive of the Uniting Church National History Society. In 2017 he completed a monograph on the social and political tracts of John Wesley, applying a global history analysis to the political writings of the founder of Methodism.
