Peter Hooker is a PhD candidate with the University of Newcastle, researching maritime history from the eighteenth to twentieth centuries. He has completed a PhD Placement with the British Library on Captain James Cook, published several articles, and his PhD research examines American maritime prisoners during the War of 1812.
