Anna McKay is a third-year collaborative doctoral student at the University of Leicester and the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich and is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Her thesis, “The History of British Prison Hulks, 1776-1864”, compares the experiences of prisoners of war and convicts held on prison ships.
