Max Holleran is Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Melbourne. His work focuses on urban development for tourism in the European Union and his dissertation research has been published, or is forthcoming, in the British Journal of Sociology, City & Society, Radical History Review, and Contemporary European History. His work on cities and politics has also appeared in Australian Book Review, Boston Review, Public Books, New Republic, Slate, and the Times Literary Supplement.
